Meet Danielle Summerall-Smith
Special Education Advocate • Educator • Helping Parents Navigate the IEP Process with Confidence
Hi, I'm Danielle.
For years, I've worked alongside students, families, and educators in special education. During that time, I noticed something that stayed with me. Many parents left IEP meetings feeling overwhelmed, confused, and unsure of what had just happened. Not because they didn't care. Not because they weren't strong advocates. But because no one had taken the time to explain the process in a way that made sense. That's why I created Advocate4StudentSuccess.
My goal is to help parents understand not only their rights, but also the educational process behind school decisions, so they can advocate with confidence while building positive partnerships that keep students at the center of every decision.
My goal is simple:
To help parents understand the system so they can confidently advocate for their child.
Many resources teach parents what to say.
Advocate4StudentSuccess helps parents understand why.
Here's what you'll learn:
Because understanding the process is the first step toward effective advocacy.
You are not alone.
Every family begins this journey with questions.
Some begin with fear.
Some begin with uncertainty.
Some begin after hearing words they've never heard before.
No matter where your journey begins, know this...
There are families who have walked this path before you.
There are educators who care deeply about helping students succeed.
There are resources that can help you understand the process.
And there is hope.
One step at a time, you can become a confident advocate for your child.
I'm honored to walk alongside you.
